Weld-only Impeders
There is no need to spend time and effort to build impeders.
Saar Hartmetall has the complete solution for a weld-only Impeder system called SIM.
The system is very practical and impeders are highly efficient.
At HF-induction tube welding lines there is a ferrite placed inside of the tube. This ferrite is encapsulated in an epoxy tube (casing) having the function to hold, to protect and to cool the ferrite in the best way. The ferrite and epoxy tube which is attached to a tow-bar is called impeder. The Impeder has the function that the energy applied to the tube by high-frequency gets concentrated at the edges of the strip which is formed to a tube in order to achieve welding. An impeder of high quality will keep energy loss at minimum. At the same it will contribute to the tube quality by improving the pre-heating and welding. Due to the excessive heat and drops from the welding point, the impeder may get burn-damages after a certain time. If this happens, the SIM impeders can be turned slightly to prevent coolant to splash to the weld zone. At the end of its life, the SIM impeder can be changed easily by unscrewing and replacing it by a new one.
The Saar Hartmetall SIM system enables easy handling and a quick change of weld impeders. The offered complete system consists of a simple hanging unit and one or more tow-bar custom prepared according to the dimensions of your tube mill.
Depending on the size of the impeder, more than one tow-bar may be needed. The towbars will be produced to fit to your tube mill.
